Winona Lakes Property Owners AssociationHistory

Winona Lakes is a remarkable community, the fruition of a concept first envisioned by Karl Hope, president of American Landmark Corporation, who embarked on a course of ranchland and commercial property development in Bushkill and its environs.  In 1971 the property we now know as Winona Lakes was purchased and subdivided into twenty sections (with a Clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pools, ski facilities, baseball fields, tennis courts and other amenities).

At its inception, Winona Lakes was a weekend-recreational community with 23 miles of rustic unpaved roads.  In due course, the WLPOA (Winona Lakes Property Owners Association) was formed and under the auspices of the Association’s first Property Manager, Bob Wolf, paved roads were introduced to the community.  Association fees were a modest $75.00 per annum, and at that point in our history less than a dozen children boarded the school bus each morning.

Today we have a vibrant residential community (yes, lots of children) with a new Clubhouse, with recently re-wired Ski Lift facilities and with a Maintenance Team to keep the roads plowed and patched that is second to none.

You will enjoy living here in scenic Winona Lakes.  Our community welcomes you.
